26 May 2016 Neonicotinoids decrease bee's memory capacity and foraging activity

A recently published study has shown that field-relevant doses of neonicotinoids, including the so-called less harmful acetamiprid induce gene expression modifications that might have consequences on bee's memory capacity, on their ability to forage as well as on their immune defense.

Acetamiprid is often seen as a harmless insecticide to bees but this study shows that it could have harmful effects if bees are chronically exposed to it.
