25 August 2016 Neonicotinoids ubiquitous: even next to organic crops
This new scientific publications indicates that flowering strips that are supposed to provide food and shelter to pollinators contain toxic concentrations of neonicotinoids, even next to organic productions, due to the long-term and large scale spread of these chemicals in the environment.
The authors also demonstrate that the more bees are exposed, the less protein/fat stores they have. This makes them susceptible to diseases and winter losses.
